‘Gadar 2’ has accomplished yet another remarkable milestone by joining the Rs 500 crore club. Directed by Anil Sharma, the movie reached this milestone in just 24 days since its release, grossing an impressive Rs 7.8 crore on its fourth Sunday at the box office. This achievement pushed its overall earnings to an estimated Rs 502 crore. To commemorate this achievement, the film’s creators hosted a celebratory event in Mumbai on Monday. The event was graced by the presence of the lead actors, Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, along with several Bollywood stars, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, and many others.
The movie was expected to surpass the 500 crore mark, primarily due to its impressive opening week collections of Rs 284 crore. When questioned by ETimes about whether she would benefit financially from the film’s achievement of crossing this significant box office milestone, the leading lady, Ameesha, responded, “Monetary gains go to the producer.
She went on to express, “I’m delighted, and they truly deserve it. They took a significant risk during the COVID pandemic, decided to greenlight a project after 22 years, and reintroduced Tara and Sakina to the audience. So, they unquestionably deserve these returns. What truly gratifies me is the audience’s love, and that, for me, is the most precious reward. The affection, admiration, and deep respect for Tara and Sakina fill my heart with a joy that no amount of money can match.”

‘Gadar 2’ has now become only the third film to surpass the Rs 500 crore threshold, following in the footsteps of ‘Baahubali 2’ and ‘Pathaan.’
Directed by Anil Sharma, the movie also featured Utkarsh Sharma in its cast. ‘Gadar 2’ made an impressive debut at the box office by grossing Rs 40 crore on its opening day, securing the position of the second-highest opener of 2023, following Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’.
Gadar 2′ serves as a follow-up to the highly successful original movie that graced theaters in 2001. In this film, Sunny Deol reprises his role as Tara, a dedicated truck driver, while Ameesha Patel portrays Sakina. The story unfolds against the backdrop of India’s partition in 1947.
